The Lying Game

8428069From Goodreads:    I had a life anyone would kill for.

Then someone did.

The worst part of being dead is that there's nothing left to live for. No more kisses. No more secrets. No more gossip. It's enough to kill a girl all over again. But I'm about to get something no one else does--an encore performance, thanks to Emma, the long-lost twin sister I never even got to meet.

Now Emma's desperate to know what happened to me. And the only way to figure it out is to be me--to slip into my old life and piece it all together. But can she laugh at inside jokes with my best friends? Convince my boyfriend she's the girl he fell in love with? Pretend to be a happy, care-free daughter when she hugs my parents goodnight? And can she keep up the charade, even after she realizes my murderer is watching her every move?

My Thoughts:

-    The book's point of view is from Sutton's ghost, but she follows Emma around, and Emma is impersonating her, so I was a little confused about who was narrating at first, but sometimes it is Sutton and sometimes it is Emma. You'd think that would be confusing, but it is actually okay. I don't know how the author pulled it off, but she did.

-    The story is a little frustrating. The characters are all bratty backstabbing b@%#es, and I feel like Emma is making all the wrong decisions by playing along.

-    There is no ending to this book!! I was pretty mad that I didn't find out who the killer was by the end.

-    I didn't want to continue the series, but I want to know who killed Sutton.

  1. That is frustrating. I have a series like that where I want to know the big who dunnit but didn't want to stick with the series. Disappointing. I'd heard this one was good.

  2. I actually think the POV of this one sounds like a unique and fun way to write this one. But it doesn't tell who murdered her?? That's depressing.
